WHO WE ARE

By Roadies,

For Roadies

In July 2019, Courtney Klimson put pen to paper during a whirlwind stretch of husband Paul’s career as a touring audio engineer and The Roadie Clinic was born. By October of that year, TRC would secure a home at 205 E Main Street in Niles, MI. With the cornerstone in place, demolition began in January 2020. As touring halted just a few short months later, there was a fear of being finished before even getting started. We couldn’t have been more wrong.

We will always give credit to our original team members, Candice Rukes and Mike Faello, for calling us mere days into the pandemic and insisting that we get to work immediately. We had no idea what we were doing back then, but we knew that we had a seed of an idea that needed to be watered. And so, we did. Grassroots style.

The remainder of 2020 was spent building awareness. As we built out our network in 2021, we realized that planning our services & resources would be an on-going task as we continue our work. Which brings us to today, full steam ahead on sourcing funding for our headquarters and building strategy, with the end goal being to be completely self-sufficient within five years of opening our doors.

As an organization, it’s important for us to be as transparent as possible to the community we are proud to serve. If you would like to dive further into the origins of our story, there’s a great write-up here . We are honored to introduce you to the following groups of people working to build a better touring culture together.

Board of Directors

Intentionally small at this time, our Board of Directors serve as the gatekeepers for major strategic moves that go from strategy to action.

IAC Rep

Industry Advisory Committee

The Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) is made up of touring roadies. Experts in the field who report back their experiences in order to help us keep our finger on the pulse of active tours.  They guide our decisions, hold a collective seat on the Board, and recommend action for programs + resources that will be of service to touring professionals.

The IAC meets on the second Tuesday of every month via Zoom.  If you’re interested in joining this Committee, email us and we’ll begin the vetting process.  The only rule:  you must be a roadie or a roadie family member.

Staff

Our current staff members are the people that show up daily, and most are on a volunteer basis, generously donating the majority of their time. TRC would be nowhere without this dedicated team, and we look forward to the day we can add to this group.

Trusted Advisors

Our team of trusted advisors are in the trenches with us, helping us fight for a better life for the touring community. They are successful in their own business endeavors, conquering industries outside of the touring that still very much relate to our experiences. As a way of giving back, they have participated on boards, building nonprofits that serve spaces that are closest to their hearts.

We rely on this team to be our sounding board (pun definitely intended). They have shaped how we approach our growth and outreach, everything from how we are organized in leadership to planning fundraising events.

OUR MISSION

Healthy road life. Healthy home life

The Roadie Clinic exists to empower + heal roadies and their families by providing services and resources tailored to the struggles of the touring lifestyle.

We are committed to providing a safe space for our community to heal off the road, to advocate for – and empower them to obtain – a healthy work environment while on the road. We intend to grow our network to have a global outreach while our three-story, multi-faceted space will offer therapy, education, advocacy, financial guidance, recovery resources and temporary housing when available. It is our goal that, through donations and partnerships, we will be able to offer our services at no cost to roadies.
